Bihar NDA Seat Sharing: The picture is gradually becoming clearer regarding seat sharing and candidate announcements within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for the Bihar Assembly elections. State BJP President Dilip Jaiswal stated in a press conference on Saturday that important announcements regarding seat sharing and ticket distribution would be made at 11 a.m. on Sunday. He also clarified that all is well within the alliance and that rumors should not be ignored.
Dilip Jaiswal said, "All is well within the NDA. The seat-sharing and candidate list will be decided by the party's central leadership. A major announcement will be made on Sunday." Jaiswal made this statement amid speculation that differences were brewing between the NDA's constituent parties in Bihar.
Former Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha, head of the NDA constituent party RLSM (Rashtriya Lok Morcha), also categorically dismissed any discontent over seat-sharing. He wrote on the social media platform X, "Ignore rumours. Negotiations are still ongoing. How these reports are spreading in the media is beyond comprehension. If someone is planting such reports, it is deception and betrayal."
Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi also expressed his views on seat sharing. He said, "We are not pressuring anyone, we are simply demanding respectable seats. If our party is given 15 seats, we can easily win 8-9 of them." He further stated that if their demands are not met, the party will not contest the elections but will continue to work for the NDA. Manjhi also added that his party has not become a recognized party even after ten years.
Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan has also expressed his views on the number of seats. While the LJP (Ram Vilas) had previously agreed on 20-22 seats, it is now demanding an additional 25 seats. Senior party leaders believe that the LJP (Ram Vilas) should receive at least 45 seats to maintain its political standing.
Sources indicate that the two main NDA parties, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal (United), appear to be reaching an agreement on a roughly equal number of seats. The BJP is expected to win 101 seats, while the JDU may contest 102. The remaining seats will be divided among smaller constituent parties.
on November 6 and 11, with the vote count taking place on November 14. Amid reports of internal differences within the NDA, all eyes are now on Sunday's press conference, where the final announcement regarding seat sharing and candidates will be made.
